The Stone Harbor Office of Code Enforcement reviews all applications and plans for compliance with the Borough Ordinances, the Uniform Construction Code Regulations, State of New Jersey 2006 International Building Code and the 2006 International Residential Code, the 2006 National Standard Plumbing Code, the 2005 National Electrical Code the 2006 International Mechanical Code, CAFRA and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Permits, Rules and Regulations. The office, located on the first floor at Stone Harbor Borough Hall, 9508 Second Avenue, is where all applications for construction and zoning permits and site plans are submitted for review and approval. The staff are available from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM each weekday, Monday thru Friday to assist and answer questions, from the public and contractors, in the procedures for filling out and submitting the forms for building and zoning as well as all questions concerning the codes and ordinances. Information and maps are available for compliance with the flood requirements of FEMA. The office staff also reviews all applications for fences, sheds, driveways, curb cuts, sidewalk and curb repairs or replacements. The inspectors perform all inspections from the start of construction thru the final completion. A request for any inspection can be called into the office at anytime the office is open by the contractor or homeowner, if they are performing their own work.
